about

This is the first "solo" record I ever made and I'm still really proud of it. I had moved from Chicago to New York and had poured my heart and soul into a loud rock band that fell apart after making an expensive record with a hit producer in Switzerland. (Long story.)

Anyway, I was so sick and tired of all the difficulty and drama and I just wanted to get away and do something quick and easy with good vibes and simple songs. So, I packed my bags and escaped back to Chicago for the summer and made this record with my good friends. We had 3 rehearsals and recorded the whole thing in one epic day in a studio with broken air conditioning. (It was friggin' hot, but the fact that we had Grammy award winning producer Blaise Barton manning the board sure helped!)

There's also a story involving a local artist and a REALLY tiny chair...but you'll have to buy the physical CD if you want to hear that one.

This album was exactly what I needed at that moment and also really helped me gain more confidence in myself as a singer and songwriter.
